What’s the problem with fishing?
However, over a third of wild fish populations are overexploited [ref1,ref2]. This means that fish are removed from the sea faster than they can reproduce [ref]. Rising sea temperatures and ocean acidification, along with plastic and chemical pollution, make it even harder for fish to withstand the pressures of overfishing [ref1,ref2,ref3,ref4]. As a result, fish populations are shrinking [ref].
